Artist Bio

Andy Mijokovich was born in West Allis, WI. In 1981 his family moved to Richland County, where his maternal ancestors settled in the mid-1850s. Among them were farmers, cheese makers, carpenters and wheelwrights.

In 1990 he moved to Mazomanie and subsequently graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School.

He has worked as a printer and machine operator. He enjoys disc golfing and the outdoors, but mostly he enjoys spending time with his children, Brianna and Jared.

Several years ago he began constructing custom frames for his mothers painted feathers. This was the beginning of his love of woodworking. Since then he has also turned bowls, plates, candle holders and bottle stoppers. He also creates functional items for his workshop.

Like many generations of his maternal relatives, he had developed knowledge of the different types of wood and the tools needed to work with them.
