The Master Singers
The ensemble is dedicated to the fostering, promotion and appreciation of choral music. Its members come from colleges and universities with strong choral music programs, and performs annually in local churches and concert halls, as well as cathedrals in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The Master Singers have collaborated with prominent composers and conductors and were featured on Wisconsin Public Radio in a broadcast of Lessons and Carols 2004. In 2006, the ensemble premiered "What is This Lovely Fragrance", by Cary John Franklin. Gary R. Schwartzhoff, conductor, is a Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is the artistic director and conductor for The Master Singers, and serves as Director of Music at the First Congregational Church in Eau Claire, where he conducts the Chancel Choir. Nancy Schwartzhoff, pianist, is soprano and charter member of The Master Singers, and an elementary educator. She has served as accompanist for numerous choral ensembles, and is a member of the Chancel Choir at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Guest artists include: Joshual Andrew, narrator; Laura Barth, flute; Cary John Franklin, composer; Jeffrey Jaworski, guitar; Daniel Newman, conductor; Mike Rindo, narrator; Holly Samson, oboe; and Mary Jo Wagner, narrator.
