Kazimierz Brzozowski
KAZIMIERZ BRZOZOWSKI has garnered acclaim on
both sides of the Atlantic for his captivating performances at the piano, in
particular the music of Chopin. He won prizes in the prestigious
Chopin Society Competition in Warsaw, Poland for three consecutive years and
won awards at the National Keyboard Festival in Slupsk.
Dr. Brzozowski is the Founder and Artistic
Director of the International Summer Music Festival in Lublin, now in its
fifth year. The Festival, held in August, attracts international
students for intensive study and performances, both solo and with a chamber
orchestra. He performs as well as conducts the chamber orchestra.
A native of Lublin, Poland, Kazimierz
Brzozowski began his musical studies as a child at the State School of Music
in his hometown. Since the age of 16, he has performed as a soloist
with the Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra. He earned a Master of Music degree
from the famed Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, graduating with
distinction. Scholarships brought him to the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor, where he earned a doctorate in piano performance under Louis
Nagel, and received several awards and scholarships.
