Biography of: 

Shirley Steiner

I am a musician who began painting in 1990. I have always enjoyed art and made a point of studying art history and going to museums whenever I had a chance. When an illness prevented me from singing, an artist friend suggested I try painting. I discovered watercolors and have been painting ever since.

I have studied with Virginia Huber in Madison and have also taken summer workshops with Jeanne Carbonetti at Lac du Flambeau and Gail McDaniel at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico.

I enjoy painting flowers from my gardens and also take my watercolors with me when I travel. I have painted Christmas cards from my travels to Russia, Romania, France and places in the United States.
