Biography of: Martha Shields
She began working with fiber in the1960s. At that time it was very difficult to find working spinning wheels so her search took her to a sheep ranch near Dayton, Wyoming. There she purchased an imported New Zealand wheel from a shepherdess and began the search for wool The need for good spinning fiber led to a flock of sheep. Her journey into the fiber world had begun and continues today. After intense study of fiber arts Martha spins, weaves, knits, fulls, and felts a variety of fibers. |
