Biography of:
Dick Woppert
Dick Woppert, originally from Milwaukee, has been a River Valley H.S. art
teacher for some years now and has been a professional potter for over 20
years. He prefers to work with high fire clay and enjoys the “ting” sound
that it produces when fired. Dick works from his barn pottery studio in
rural Muscoda and fires his work in the kilns that he has built. He mixes
his own glazes and experiments with different formulas to constantly improve
color. His current work at the Red Door Gallery is in several shades of rust
and blue. His body of work includes several styles and sizes of mugs, bowls,
vases, trays and ewers.
